Raymond Hsu

Raymond is a key member of the Northwest Sound lead section.

He was born and raised in Seattle except for two years in Montana as a kid. He graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in chemistry in 1979, received his DDS degree in 1983 and has worked as a dentist since then. He was awarded a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) in 1990 and a Mastership in 2000. He was the 113th person to receive the AGD’s Life-Long Service Recognition award in 2014. Several chorus members are his patients.

Raymond learned to sing in Northwest Sound. He was recruited by Frank Bell, in 2004, while he was looking at Frank’s teeth!  He has been a show chairman, served two stints on the chapter board, has been Valentines chairman twice, has sung in five quartets, including one senior quartet, and has qualified for the district quartet contest three times. A highlight was performing a dozen shows in The Music Man along with Matt Picioccio, Brady Anderson, and Barry Knott in a Lyric Light Opera production.
